We at Windpower Energy will import and clear through Customs adjust and modify certain brands of Wind Generators from Asia and give a one year Warranty held with Windpower Energy for one year for anyone wishing to use our services.
Some Units we have imported for trial test have lost the Magnetism from the Rotor over a short period of time slowly producing less and less power, finally spinning like mad out of Control producing no or very little electricity.
Others will not turn out of Wind properly and in High Wind are extremely Dangerous and will actually Scare you with the Noise and Shaking.
The most common fault the part hard to design and manufacturer is the Yaw Bearing, slip rings, and brush section.This is the section that allows the Wind Generator to turn on the Tower following the Wind and still send the electricity from the Generator through the brushes and slip rings to your Battery Controller without twisting the Wire.
The bearings or shaft usually a combination of both wear very quickly and the Wind Generator wobbles on the Tower dangerously.
If the brushes or slip rings fail usually because they work loose or burn out you get no transfer of electricity from the wind generator to the Battery Controller.
The Battery Controller is usually the first thing to go wrong and fails to convert the power from the Wind Generator from AC to DC.Sometimes they burn out completely and actually catch on Fire, great if they are in a building. See photo.
Some Damage the Batteries by sending voltages above the recommended maximum from the Battery Manufacturer.
The Battery Charge Controller is the most important thing in your Wind Generator system and can bring about a very expensive Battery Bank replacement or burn down the Building . Take care where you install it allow for a small fire if using cheap imports.

 (This is a Model using Air X Components) It was Designed and built by Bill Chapman with the Blade down Wind. The Cover over the top is to stop direct heat from the Sun heating up the body and cooking the Circuit Board. It also has a Ram air effect on the Blade. The Fins underneath because of no tail are to allow it to tract the Wind. This Unit has been working for two years with no problems. |
